Muslim American Reflection on 9/11

As America will celebrate the 19thanniversary of 9/11 terrorist attack, I came to know that this day is also called Patriot Day and National Day of Service, according to National Service website. On this day Americans across the country are encouraged to volunteer in their local communities to honor the individuals lost and injured in the attacks, first responders, and the many who serve to defend freedom.

I moved from Indonesia to the United States in 2008 so it did not directly impact me. But when I immigrated here, I could see how Muslims and other minority groups…
